The eastern side of Huangpu River in Shanghai is now a land of opportunities catching looks from all over the world; while the fast growing Pudong area creates legends one after another. Skyscrapers within Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone, have lured hundreds of domestic and overseas financial institutions. Within this area, a modern comprehensive hospital, Shanghai East Hospital (SEH) is now rising rapidly. The overall expansion and renovation with the support of local government, as well as the decision to upgrade services and capacity, has led the hospital into a new historic period with a new mission.

Bearing the historic responsibilities to serve the whole nation based on Pudong, and following the tempo of deepening reform and opening in Pudong, SEH quickens its step in scientific research, improving medical facilities, instruments, and enhancing its service.
