Overview

In March 2019, the East Hospital Eye and Optometry Center is established under the joint efforts of the hospital and the top-notch Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University.  We serve as a comprehensive platform for eye and optometry medical services, integrating functions such as eye and vision healthcare, research, teaching and training, preventive care, and rehabilitation. We hold prestigious recognition as the Shanghai Popular Science Base for Myopia Prevention and Treatment Engineering Research Center by the National Ministry of Education, the member of the National Alliance for Eye and Vision, the demonstration base for the Johnson & Johnson Vision Experience Center, the Carl Zeiss Vision Experience Center, and the Essilor CRT Fitting Demonstration Center. Furthermore, we have successfully undertaken and completed one national key special project, two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and have been awarded one second prize for national teaching achievements.

Services

At East Hospital Eye and Optometry Center, we adopt a full-process and comprehensive approach to eye health prevention, care, diagnosis, and rehabilitation and employ the diagnosis and treatment of functional eye diseases, departing from traditional approaches that solely focus on structural eye diseases. Our specialized clinics for myopia prevention, vision rehabilitation, and high myopia set us apart as global leaders in myopia prevention, special contact lens applications in ophthalmology, and postoperative vision rehabilitation for congenital cataract. Moreover, we have a professional team specializing mainly in myopia prevention and corneal reshaping, which include a senior member of the International Myopia Prevention and the International Academy of Orthokeratology, along with three members of the International Academy of Orthokeratology-Asia (IAOA).
