Overview

The East Hospital Stomatology stands as a distinctive specialty within the Pudong New District and holds pivotal status within the hospital. Specifically, the Implant Restoration Specialty is esteemed as a key component of Shanghais healthcare system. Moreover, we are a standardized training base for resident physicians, a specialized physician training ground, a national clinical trial center for pharmaceuticals, the Pudong New District Stomatology Medical Quality Control Center, and a member institution of the Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital Prosthodontics Specialty Alliance. We operate across two campuses: the North Campus (Lujiazui Campus) and the South Campus (World Expo Site Campus). 

Expert Team

Comprising a total of 108 medical and technical personnel, the team includes 8 individuals with senior professional titles, 38 with intermediate titles, and 18 nurses. Over 80% of them hold advanced degrees, with many having graduated from esteemed stomatology institutions both domestically and internationally, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Air Force Medical University, and Seoul National University. With a structured and highly proficient medical team, we offer patients exemplary and accessible medical services, featuring a dedicated outpatient clinic catering to specialized needs.

Services

At East Hospital, the Stomatology department offers services regarding seven subspecialties, includinDental Implantology, Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative and Endodontic Dentistry, Periodontics, Orthodontics, and Pediatric Dentistry. With a steadfast commitment to patient-centric care, the center endeavors to meet the medical needs of Pudong, the Free Trade Zone, and the core area of scientific innovation, thereby contributing to the establishment of a research-oriented hospital that is non-profit, academic, and international.

Research

The East Hospital Stomatology department shoulders various clinical, scientific research, and teaching responsibilities. We oversee standardized training, undergraduate teaching, and clinical internships for several medical universities in China. Our research endeavors have garnered support from diverse avenues, including 4 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and over 10 projects at the provincial/ministerial level, amassing research funding totaling about 3 million yuan. Over the years, we have contributed to the publication of over 100 articles in domestic and international journals, with more than 50 articles included in SCI journals. Additionally, weve earned 2 awards at the provincial/ministerial level and hold over 40 national invention patents and utility model patents. Hosting 13 national continuing education projects, supervising over 30 master and PhD students, publishing 5 teaching papers, and serving as chief editor for 3 monographs and a contributor to 10, attest to our commitment to academic excellence.
