Overview
The General Practice Department at East Hospital holds a significant place in Shanghai’s medical landscape, embodying a rich history of service and expertise. We possess a spacious area spanning 400 square meters, featuring 20 beds and designed to provide patients with a tranquil, well-lit, and orderly environment. The goal is to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere that fosters healing and reassurance.
Over the years, we have evolved into a vital component of the East Hospital, playing a pivotal role as a key discipline within Shanghai. Additionally, we serve as the directing institution of the General Medicine Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association and the deputy institution of the General Practitioner Branch of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association. Furthermore, we function as a national standardized general medicine training base for resident physicians, a standardized general medicine training base for general practitioners in Shanghai, and a clinical base for general practitioner training.
Expert Team
The team comprises 15 highly educated physicians, with 8 holding PhD degrees and 7 possessing senior professional titles, including 2 who serve as professors and PhD tutors and 1 Leading Talent in the Pudong New District.
Dr. JIANG Hua, the department director, brings extensive leadership and experience. He is a professor at Tongji University School of Medicine and an honorary professor of family medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is also a member of the World Organization of Family Doctors and holds various committee roles in national and international medical associations. Dr. Jiang’s commitment to advancing general medicine is evident through his prospective chairmanship the General Medicine Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association and vice presidency the General Medicine Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association. Furthermore, he has enriched his expertise through visiting scholar programs globally, focusing on talent cultivation and clinical research.
