The East Hospital Ophthalmology (South Campus), located in the vibrant Pudong New District, is staffed by a dedicated team of 8 doctors, 3 medical technicians, and 2 specialized nurses, which includes 2 PhD candidates and 4 master candidates. We not only deliver high-quality medical services to eye patients in Pudong and Shanghai but also extend top-notch care to international patients from across the globe. In recent years, we have undergone rapid development, with an average annual surgical volume exceeding 1,000 cases. Currently, we undertake multiple national and municipal-level research projects and function as a leading role in ophthalmology in Pudong, offering comprehensive sub-specialties and serving as the ophthalmology teaching base for the Clinical Medicine program at Tongji University School of Medicine and the standardized training base for general practitioners. We are committed to providing compassionate and advanced eye care to all individuals, ensuring optimal vision health and well-being.

Equipped with cutting-edge international ophthalmic examination devices, such as the Alcon LenSX Femtosecond Laser Cataract System, Alcon Infinity Cataract Phacoemulsification Surgical System, Alcon Femtosecond Laser and Excimer Laser System, the American Alcon Constellation Vitreoretinal Surgery System, as well as the German ZESS HD-OCT (High-Definition Optical Coherence Tomography) and the British Ophthalmic Laser Fundus Camera, we intend to offer the best care for our patients.

Furthermore, leveraging the superior development platform of Shanghai, we have pioneered advancements in ophthalmic surgery, introduced femtosecond laser-assisted cataract phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation surgeries. Additionally, we conduct various routine cataract surgeries, glaucoma surgeries, complex glaucoma-cataract combined surgeries, vitreoretinal surgeries, and treatments for pediatric strabismus and amblyopia. As the designated institution for cataract surgery in the Pudong New District, we are dedicated to bringing visual rehabilitation to our community.
