Overview

The East Hospital Ophthalmology (North Campus) is dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment for a wide range of eye diseases and optometric services, employing state-of-the-art technologies to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. We are committed to delivering exceptional care and innovative treatments to preserve and enhance the vision of our patients, striving to uphold the highest standards of excellence in eye care.

Services

With advanced techniques and equipment, we offer a diverse array of treatment options for various eye conditions, including cataract phacoemulsification surgery, treatment for traumatic cataracts and dislocated lenses, glaucoma surgery, retinal detachment surgery, macular hole repair, epiretinal membrane surgery, choroidal tumor treatment, choroidal detachment surgery, combined glaucoma and cataract surgery, implantation of drainage devices for refractory glaucoma, laser nasolacrimal duct recanalization, as well as femtosecond and excimer laser surgeries. We also specialize in fitting rigid gas-permeable (RGP) and orthokeratology contact lenses to address various vision correction needs.

Cataract Surgery

In the field of cataract surgery, we been at the forefront of innovation since 1998, pioneering small incision cataract phacoemulsification combined with foldable intraocular lens implantation in the Pudong New District, which is renowned for its efficiency, rapid postoperative recovery, and minimal astigmatism. Additionally, we have introduced early adoption of 2.2mm micro-incision cataract phacoemulsification surgery and have amassed extensive expertise in complex cataract surgeries, including those associated with uveitis, hard nucleus, white nucleus, small pupils, and subluxated lenses. The team has garnered rich clinical experience in treating complex conditions such as lens dislocation, traumatic cataracts, complex retinal detachments, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, and complex eye trauma, earning accolades and trust from our patients.

Vision Correction

Furthermore, we lead the posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens implantation for correcting high myopia, with a record correction of up to -29.0D (2900 degrees), offering a viable solution for myopic patients unsuitable for excimer laser refractive surgery. We employ comprehensive approaches to glaucoma assessment, integrating various diagnostic modalities such as non-contact tonometry, visual field examination, ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM), retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) assessment, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and diurnal intraocular pressure monitoring. We provide effective treatment options for different types of glaucoma, including medications, laser therapy, and surgical interventions.
