Overview

The East Hospital Anesthesiology (North Campus) is a pivotal specialty in Pudong New District, serving as a standardized training base for resident physicians in Shanghai and an accredited institution affiliated with Tongji University, offering PhD and master programs. We have achieved a comprehensive development encompassing medicine, education, and research.

Annually, we perform over 30,000 surgeries within the operating room, including nearly 1,000 cardiac and major vascular surgeries. Moreover, we provide over 30,000 cases of anesthesia outside the operating room, encompassing procedures like painless gastroscopy, abortion, egg retrieval, childbirth, day surgery, and interventional anesthesia. We also cater to several hundred cases involving foreign nationals in international hospitals. Additionally, the pain clinic treats over 3,000 cases annually, with minimally invasive intervention treatments ranging from 400 to 600 cases each year.

Expert Team

The department comprises 2 chief physicians, 6 associate chief physicians, 13 attending physicians, 18 resident physicians, and 9 anesthesia nursing staff. Among them, over 60% holds masters or PhD degreesWe have forged strong cooperative relationships with medical centers in Germany, the United States, and other countries, with senior doctors participating in exchange programs at renowned institutions such as the Department of Anesthesiology at the German Heart Center and the US Trauma Center.

Services

At East Hospital Anesthesiology, our expertise covers clinical anesthesia and the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain. We are actively involved in various surgical anesthesia procedures and related diagnostic and therapeutic activities.

With nationally advanced intraoperative monitoring and anesthesia technology, we adopt ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) anesthesia protocols, prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and faster recovery. We emphasize long-term therapeutic effects, pay attention to details and prioritize the physical and mental well-being of our patients, ensuring they receive comfortable, reassuring, and enjoyable medical services.
