Overview

In 2010, the Endocrinology and Metabolism Department was recognized as an official endocrinology physician training base by the Ministry of Health. It also serves as a standardized training base for resident physicians and community diabetes nurses in Shanghai.

Services

Our department specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of endocrine diseases, including diabetes and its acute and chronic complications, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary diseases, osteoporosis, and obesity. We have pioneered a new metabolic disease management model, known as the Metabolic Management Center (MMC), and a Diabetes Care Clinic, which are distinguished by individualized treatment and high-quality care for diabetes patients.

Innovations & Achievements

We have established the “Dongtang (Diabetes in East) Club,” which offers regular lectures on diabetes prevention and treatment, as well as patient communication activities. Our department has been honored with the title of “Role Demonstration Collective” by East Hospital for ten consecutive years.
