Overview
The Neurology Department at East Hospital is a distinguished member institution of the Shanghai Neurology Specialty Committee, serving as a city-level clinical treatment center for stroke and an institution of the China Stroke Association. As a standardized training base for resident physicians and specialists in Shanghai, the department operates across two campuses: the North Campus (Lujiazui Campus) and the South Campus (World Expo Site Campus).
Expert Team
Under the leadership of Professor HUANG Dongya, our department boasts a highly skilled medical team, comprising 2 chief physicians, 6 associate chief physicians, and 2 PhD tutors. The team’s extensive clinical experience ensures precise diagnosis and effective treatment of complex neurological diseases. Our expertise spans across the management of cerebrovascular diseases, Parkinson’s disease, cognitive impairment, epilepsy, and demyelinating diseases.
Facilities
Our North Campus is an independent secondary clinical discipline construction site that integrates medicine, education, and research. Our department is well-equipped with a Neurology Emergency unit, Specialty Outpatient services, Specialty Wards, a Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and specialized testing rooms including a Cerebrovascular Ultrasound Testing Room (Transcranial Doppler and Cervical Vascular Ultrasound) and a Neurophysiology Room (video and dynamic electroencephalography, electromyography, and polysomnographic sleep monitoring).
