Services
We excel in a wide array of surgical procedures for hernia and abdominal wall diseases, such as inguinal, incisional, parastomial, umbilical, linea alba, and lumbar hernias, as well as abdominal wall conditions like postpartum rectus muscle diastasis and tumors. Pioneering laparoscopic minimally invasive repair techniques in China, we have recently integrated laparoscopic Sublay repair methods, elevating our surgical proficiency to an internationally recognized standard.
Innovations & Achievements
The department has witnessed a surge in the surgical treatment of postpartum rectus muscle separation, with laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive abdominal wall plastic surgery yielding outstanding outcomes. Additionally, our minimally invasive techniques for ingrown toenail correction and micro-invasive axillary odor treatments have significantly improved patient experiences.
Clinical Specialty
Minimally Invasive and Individualized Hernia Treatment: Our department specializes in the surgical treatment of complex and challenging hernia conditions such as incisional hernias and parastomal hernias. In addition to conventional surgeries, we have also been conducting and promoting the Sublay repair technique under laparoscopy in recent years. This includes the repair of massive incisional hernias, parastomal hernias, and large abdominal wall defects after the resection of abdominal wall tumors, achieving a level of surgical capability that is internationally advanced.
Minimally Invasive Correction for Ingrown Toenails and Minimally Invasive Treatment for Axillary Hyperhidrosis: Our department also takes pride in its minimally invasive treatment, which has provided relief for many patients from their suffering. The members of our department, especially the younger doctors, have made rapid progress in recent years. They have won numerous awards in domestic surgical video competitions and have received unanimous recognition from experts and peers.
Treatment for Postpartum Diastasis Recti Abdominis: The incidence of diastasis recti abdominis has significantly increased in recent years, making both surgical and non-surgical treatments very important. Our surgical options include laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery as well as abdominal wall plastic surgery based on the correction of separation, with satisfactory surgical outcomes.
Research & Education
Dr. TANG Rui’s Operative Hernia Surgery has become a seminal work in China’s hernia surgery field, while What You Need to Know About Hernia Prevention and Treatment fills a significant gap as the only recent popular science book on the subject. Our department has secured numerous research grants and produced over 40 research papers, with over 10 published in internationally recognized journals, reflecting our commitment to advancing hernia care.
Commitments
The Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery Department is dedicated to providing individualized surgical plans based on the specific conditions of our patients, ensuring the quality of surgery while reducing surgical risks.
