Overview
The Obstetrics Department, led by renowned experts Professor DUAN Tao and LIU Ming, is a highly qualified and technically proficient team dedicated to ensuring maternal and infant safety. Our integrated, comprehensive, and convenient model of maternal and child health services emphasizes the development of specialized care for specific conditions. Leveraging the advantages of a Class-A Grade-3 comprehensive hospital, we enhance clinical capabilities through multidisciplinary collaboration, aiming to develop into a distinctive medical center that integrates medical care, education, and research.
Clinical Specialty
Comprehensive Management of Premature Birth
The Premature Birth Special Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Team, led by Professor Duan, is dedicated to the standardized diagnosis, treatment, and management of premature birth. Focusing on high-risk groups, we have pioneered a comprehensive management model in China. Our team has successfully treated numerous high-risk patients nationwide, establishing a prominent brand. We organize national-level specialty training, including cervical cerclage training camps, premature birth training camps, and conferences, attracting specialists from across the country. Additionally, we initiated the National Premature Birth Rescue Alliance, which includes 30 medical institutions and has successfully treated tens of thousands of patients.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Critical Obstetric Care
Our department emphasizes the overall management of pregnant women by integrating multiple disciplines. We have established specialized teams for critical obstetric care, ensuring maternal and infant safety from preconception through postpartum. Our collaborations include the Oncology Department for cancer patient management, the Clinical Psychology Department for mental health, and the Plastic Surgery Department for obstetric-plastic surgery care. These efforts aim to protect pregnant women throughout their entire lifecycle.
Management of Pregnancy-induced Hypertension
Pregnancy-induced hypertension is a significant threat to maternal and infant health. Under the leadership of Professor Duan, our team emphasizes individualized, stratified management with a focus on early prevention and treatment. We comprehensively monitor maternal, fetal, and placental conditions to assess disease progression and provide integrated management, aiming to prevent serious complications.
Labor Room Management
Our labor room, adjacent to the Neonatology Department, includes a delivery room, emergency operating room, and integrated labor room with advanced facilities such as multifunctional delivery beds, a central fetal monitoring system, and a neonatal radiation platform. We advocate for vaginal delivery, aiming to ensure that “those who want to give birth, can give birth safely.” We promote measures like external cephalic version for breech presentation, VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean section), labor analgesia, reduced episiotomy rates, and 24-hour husband accompaniment in the delivery room to support natural childbirth.
Ward Facilities Meeting Multilevel Needs
To meet the diverse needs of pregnant women, our department offers three ward areas: the labor room, general ward, and VIP ward, with a total of 55 beds. The VIP ward includes suites and single rooms designed with an immersive family-oriented approach, equipped with independent bathrooms, accompanying beds, adjustable sofas, LCD TVs, refrigerators, and free WiFi. These facilities provide a comfortable environment for expectant mothers and their families, offering high-quality postpartum meals and premium maternal and child healthcare services.
