Annually, the outpatient and emergency department receive nearly 60,000 visits and perform over 3,000 surgical procedures each year.

Expert Team

Led by Professor WANG Tao, a recipient of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and a leading talent in Shanghai, the talented team is continuously developing. With a comprehensive young talent training program, we comprise 19 physicians and 17 nurses, including 2 chief physicians, 7 associate chief physicians, 6 PhDs, and 11 master graduates.

Services

Currently, the South Campus has developed distinctive technologies and medical brands in various areas, including Damage Control Surgery for multiple injuries, minimal invasive multidisciplinary therapy for elderly hip fractures, surgical treatment of complex pelvic fractures, minimal invasive surgery for joint periarticular fractures under endoscopy, repair and reconstruction of soft tissue injuries, nutritional intervention for elderly trauma, and reconstruction surgery for multiple rib fractures.

With a primary focus on treating critical trauma patients, we have pioneered a treatment model named “Trauma Team,” which involves collaboration between pre-hospital, emergency, and intensive care, multidisciplinary diagnosis, and clinical decision-making by trauma surgery. We advocate for professional skills and diversity, integrating space, equipment, and medical staff, and combining rescue, surgery, and monitoring. Adopting multidisciplinary unified management, we have raised the success rate of the treatment of multiple and complex injuries to 97%. In response to the changing trauma epidemiology in an aging society, we have established the first national elderly trauma nutrition rehabilitation clinic, providing lifecycle care services covering both trauma treatment and nutritional rehabilitation. Collaborating with Anesthesia Department, we deliver a full-course painless treatment for trauma patients and establish a “Trauma Painless Ward” to ensure comfortable medical care.
