Pediatrics (North Campus)

Overview

Since 1920, the East Hospital Pediatrics has been dedicated to providing medical care for children, with an annual outpatient volume reaching up to 180,000 visits. Operating under the umbrella of the National Children’s Medical Center (also known as Shanghai Children’s Medical Center), we serve as a model base for advancing early growth and development within the Pediatric Medical Consortium in Pudong New District.

Expert Team

Under the leadership of Directors WANG Ying and ZHANG Bin, the North Campus of Pediatrics comprises 3 chief physicians, 9 associate chief physicians, 12 attending physicians, and 2 resident physicians, with 4 holding PhD degrees. We have achieved integrated development across medicine, education, and research.

Services

In addition to providing diagnosis and treatment for common pediatric conditions, the Pediatrics have established specialized outpatient clinics for pediatric endocrine diseases, pediatric asthma and allergic diseases, and pediatric growth and development. To address conditions stemming from growth and developmental disorders, such as precocious puberty, short stature, and childhood obesity, we conduct growth hormone and sex hormone stimulation tests. Methods such as inhalation and food allergen tests and offer nebulized inhalation therapy are employed for children with asthma or allergic diseases. For older children, pulmonary function tests and long-term follow-up visits are available.
